In my medical office, I use the open source OSCAR EMR and Fujitsu SnapScan S510 for scanning patient charts. I use a yellow highlighter, modified with a hole drilled at the top with an injection of yellow ink-jet printer ink and 70% isopropanol, to mark the pages as they run through the Fujitsu SnapScan S510M. I run OSCAR 9.12 in Ubuntu Linux 10.04 under Parallels 5.0 inside a Mac Mini 2.4G C2D with Snow Leopard 10.6 OSCAR is developed by McMaster University.
